One of the advantages of joining a book club online is that you get to meet new people you didn’t know before. That means you form new networks of people who can be of assistance when you need them post COVID-19.

Second, you get to learn together reducing boredom in a way.

Search on Google for “online book clubs”.

Again, you can ask for recommendation on social media platforms.

Don’t mind if it is perfect or not. The aim is just to engage yourself. Putting your mind and your body to this, takes your mind and body off unhealthy thoughts.

You can draw with a pen, pencil, a stick, markers, paint, poster colour, and any other thing that could draw.

You can draw on paper, sand, white board, skin, any medium you deem necessary.

You can also use your laptop, tab, phone. Get drawing software and go ahead and draw.

Relieving your childhood can be one of the things you can do. This could be helpful for some, while it could bring back bad memories for others.

Relieving your past, childhood memories can bring back memories that you have forgotten and fill you with nostalgia.

For those whose childhood are not that pleasant can also stop themselves midway and ask themselves, “What are the life lessons I can pick from this?”

They can also see how they can take the ‘poison’ out of that memories.

34. PLAY STIMULATING MUSIC

Music is not just the food of love, it is the food of the soul.

Edifying songs are good for your soul.

During this period, play them over and over. Get your favourite songs and put them on replay.

Play them, over and over, and over and over.

It will lift your spirit.

35. DO PERSONAL STUDY OF GREAT COMPANIES

Document your lessons.

Write about them on your blog and social media platforms.

36. CREATE A FAMILY TIME

Deliberately create family time.

Set up what you will do during this family time. It could be twice a week, or it could be in the evenings or mornings. You choose how you want that to be.

Decide what you want to see done during this family time. But make sure IT IS FUN! If it is not, it would turn off your children and other people involved.

37. GAME. GAME. GAME.

Well, for some who don’t have game items at home now won’t be able to purchase them. That notwithstanding, there are online games. You can get Monopoly, chess, scrabble, and other games online.

Meditation means different things to different people. And there are different types of meditation.

I don’t know what it means to you, but my emphasis here is focusing on yourself, a word, or a sentence, or an object, or an activity with the intention of increasing awareness of yourself and your surroundings.

Most times, people who practice meditation use it to achieve mental and emotional calm and clarity.

This helps to reduce stress and helps in concentration.

According to Sujan Patel, meditation is a solitary practice in which you sit quietly for a period of time and try to clear your mind, regulate your breath and focus your thoughts.

Research shows that meditation can lead to a 40% reduction in psychological distress, such as stress, anxiety and depression, according to the David Lynch Foundation

39. LISTEN TO PODCAST

This is a store of resources. There is virtually a podcast episode on any topic you are looking for. All you have to do is search on Google for a topic. For example, search for “Sharwama + podcast”.

You might be able to get something directly on sharwama or get an episode on food that mentioned sharwama.

Another way around this, is to ask for recommendation. Ask people online where you can get a podcast on a particular topic.

Download them and listen to them.

40. START YOUR OWN PODCAST

You can start your own podcast too. The easy way to do this, go to anchor.fm and sign up and follow the instructions on how to set it up and start recording.

You have heard this, over and over. This is not a new thing to you. But you haven’t done anything about that since. So, now, you can start.

Furthermore, you can reach out to people to guide you.

42. WATCH DOCUMENTARIES

This is one educational method that only few pay attention to and deliberately adopt.

There are many documentary channels available. Online too, there are documentary platforms.

One advantage of a documentary is that, it is often time, a researched work. It is not the kind of ‘fluff and pluff’ shared on social media platforms.

The producers and directors put in time to do thorough research and study on their subjects before documenting them and putting them out for people to consume.

43. EXERCISE

This is very essential. Why? You are holed up in your house and hardly move around like you normally do while transiting to and fro work.

So, you need exercise to free up yourself and give your muscles some work to do.

It will help you breathe better. More blood circulation. Your mental agility will increase. And it will add to your overall mental and physical health.

44. READ OLD MAGAZINES/NEWSPAPERS

If you are like some of us that like to go back to dated news and story items, you might like to pick old magazines and newspapers to engage yourself.

And if you are not like us, try it out. Pick up old newspapers and magazines and read through them. Look for human angle stories, old stories, old news, and consume them.

You can get them online by going back to a certain year or date.

You can dig them up in your home if you have a store of them. You can also borrow from neighbours.

Well, they are part of the our history. And history is the bedrock of our lives.

There are things there you would find that you never knew about.

Above all, you will increase your knowledge.

Again, you can pick up ideas there that might be useful in your career or business or life

Truly, YouTube is a school. An informal learning centre.

Take time out to sign up for this school.

What do you want to learn? You will find it there.

Make YouTube your school.
